This guide is designed to walk through all of the ‌Find My‌ features on ‌iPhone‌ and iPad, including those introduced with the iOS 15 update. Since then, Apple has made continual improvements to the ‌Find My‌ app, adding features like tracking when an ‌iPhone‌ has no connection, when an ‌iPhone‌ is powered off, and when an ‌iPhone‌ has been erased. If toggled “ off ”, you won’t appear in your friends ’ f riends l ist s (no matter their settings).Apple in iOS 13 and iPadOS merged the Find My Friends and the ‌Find My‌ iPhone apps into one app that's just called '‌Find My‌,' because it's used for finding whatever you need to find. Additionally, you can opt-out of being displayed on other users ’ friends list s by toggling the “Appear in other u sers ’ friends list” button at the bottom of the same menu.

Then tap “Privacy” and then “Friends List.” From there you can s elect your desired privacy option. To make your friends list more private, go to the “Me” tab and tap the Settings gear in the top right. Depending on your privacy settings, other Users can also view your friends list this way. You can go to another user’s profile and do the same thing to see their friends list. Just tap the number of friends at the top of your Me tab (ex: “200 Friends”) to check it out. You can view your friends list in the Venmo app. In the app, simply tap the “Friends” checkmark > Unfriend and you’re all set! On the web, click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and select 'Remove as Friend'. To remove a friend on Venmo (from the app or web), all you need to do is navigate to your friend’s Venmo profile. Once their code is centered it will take you straight to their profile page- no need to click! If someone sends you a personal QR code just click on the link and it will bring you right into the Venmo app on their profile page.

If you're face to face with someone you want to add, open the Venmo code scanner in the app and point it at the 'Venmo Me' QR code on their screen. If you allow access, we’ll look for any friends that are already on Venmo and automatically add them to your friend list (and you’ll be added to theirs). When you sign up for Venmo (or right before you use a feature for the first time), you’ll be asked to grant Venmo permission to access the contacts on your phone. While you don’t have to be friends with someone on Venmo to pay them, it helps ensure that your payments are going to the right place (and helps your friends find you)! Adding friends is an important part of the Venmo experience.
